AREA 47 CHILDREN MINISTRIES DONATES TO CHEJIKA SCHOOLS

Children's Ministries Department of Area 47 Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lilongwe visited Live Love Chejika Schools in Area 18 on 14th December, 2024 where they donated assorted items worth 1.4 million kwacha.

Activities on the day included Sabbath school by the Childrens Ministries, a sermon delivered by 12 year old Noela Kampani and some special songs sung by the hosts and the visitors. They also sung some songs together.

"God has a plan for each one of us, no matter what the world thinks about us. We should remember that God loves us everyone and He has a plan for us," said Noela.

The assorted items that were donated included maize flour, cooking oil, soap, sugar, hard covers, pencils, pens, soya pieces, and uniforms.

Speaking when she received the items, Tiwonge Chimamba, Director of the schools, thanked the visitors for the gifts.

"These gifts will go a long way to alleviate the problems the school is facing. We have a lot of challenges and would like to urge well wishers to come forth and assist us like the children from Area 47 church have done," she said.

Ms. Kumbutso Takomana, Director of Children Ministries at Area 47 Church, shared words of hope to the hosts and thanked God that they were able to share what they could.

Live Love Chejika has a total of 130 learners, 69 of which are boys and 61 girls and their ages range from three to nineteen years old for Nursery and Primary classes while the Secondary section has learners aged between 12 and 20 yrs.

The school, which has been in operation for quite a number of years, opened an orphanage in 2010 after the passing of the founders and has been receiving needy students from within the catchment area.

Their challenges include foodstuffs, learning materials as well as teaching and administrative materials.
