KALIYEKA DORCAS HOLDS DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING

Kaliyeka Dorcas held a day of prayer and fasting on Sunday, 29 December 2024, to express gratitude to God for the blessings of the past year and to seek divine guidance for the upcoming year.

The event featured a guest speaker, Dr. Nicholas Banda, who delivered an informative presentation on cervical cancer, covering its causes, risk factors, misconceptions, and symptoms. He emphasized the importance of cancer screening, stating that "knowledge is power."

Dr. Banda encouraged the women to prioritize their health and take advantage of available screening services.

In her sermon, Ireen Mbite urged the women to cultivate a spirit of love and forgiveness, even towards those who may have wronged them.

She drew inspiration from the biblical example of King David, who sought guidance from God through prayer in times of trouble.

One of the attendees, Triza Banda Mbenje, described the event as "unforgettable," saying that it had deepened her spiritual understanding and provided her with valuable insights into cervical cancer.

"The songs, thanksgiving, prayers, and sermons have lifted me spiritually," she added.

Elder Davie Kamwendo, the sponsor of the event, expressed his gratitude to the women for their active participation in Dorcas activities throughout 2024.

In her closing remarks, Melina Makhiya, the 2024 Kaliyeka Dorcas leader, urged the women to extend their support to the newly elected Dorcas leaders in 2025, as they look forward to the second coming of Jesus.
